Feed My Starving Children
In August 2009, members of Gateway worked / participated in a two day
event with fellow Christians at "Covenant Presbyterian Church" in the "Feed
My Starving Children" program.
Bags of rice, soy, de-hydrated vegetables were
bagged, weighed, sealed,
measured,
and the area cleaned up.
labeled and boxed.
Each bag contained enough food for six meals,,,
at a cost of 0.17 cents per meal!
we ran out of boxes!
the net result...
over 220,000 meals were prepared, surpassing the FMSCs goal of 150,000!!
We even had a sample of the meals we prepared,,, vary tasty!
Gateway will be participating in this program again in the Fall
of 2010.
